Need credit repair? I do...
Well, i'll be honest,
I have sucky credit. Its not because i don't pay my bills, nor do i go around screwing people out of money. My credit problems come from the fact that I am self employed, unmarried, and don't own a house. When i first started my company, i was tempted by the offers to get services and products, when i didn't have the cash flow to support them. As a consequence, i ended up paying alot of bills late, waiting for my customers to pay me. Some of them even were sent to collections. Now, even though all my debt is long ago paid off and settled, the negative items remain on the report. I have personally written the credit agencies and have recieved nothing more then stall tactics and no real results. Finally, I decided to try a credit repair agency. After looking around, I chose Lexington Law as the first agency to try.
So far my experience has been very positive.. Before signing up, i checked google for any hate reviews they have recieved. There are a few but its mostly by some crackpots that were being totally unreasonable in their dealings with the company. And my research tells me that they try to respond to those crackpots where most companies would just ignore you.
After signing up, i was given a case number to call in on. I called at 7:55 at night and reached a live person on the phone right away. This person didn't transfer me to anyone and personally helped me get my case setup.
On their web site, is hours of reading with information about the credit agencies, and their actual legal standing in the world. I really enjoyed reading the information on their site as this was information that i have previously "felt" was true but never had seen it spelled out so exactly.
It takes about 6 months to clean up the credit, maybe a year using this firm. But they dont use underhanded tactics that might get you in trouble later on. This long period of time doen't seem to be from a lack of them trying, but since the credit agencies are experts in denying and stalling, you have to be persistant and keep coming back to them untill they give up. I will keep you up-to-date on how well this actually works.
Pricing isn't too bad. Its a $99 setup fee and $35 per month. This includes them paying a paralegal to manually enter your credit report into their system for editing later.
So far i'm impressed, i'll report my progress as it happens.
