Is 2006 really going to be the "Year of Linux" like everyone is saying?

I am running Ubuntu right now. I liked it so much that I have my mother in law running it, and she is as about as computer savvy as an anteater.
Linux has made some big strides lateley, and I think it is ready to go big time. I use my Windows maybe once or twice a week. Im not anti-Microsoft. I use an XBOX for gaming and I dont hate using Windows, Linux is just more secure right now. Hopefully, Linux will force Microsoft to step up and write an Operating System that wont get exploited on a weekly basis. Linux can get exploited too, but as of right now, my Linux box has a much lesser chance of getting pwned by some script kiddie.
